And the best bit? You won’t be thrown in at the deep end. You’ll have the chance to shadow experienced Cover Supervisors for a day first, so you can see how things run before taking the lead yourself. What does a Cover Supervisor do? Think of yourself as the calm, confident presence in the room when a teacher is away. Deliver pre-set lessons across different subjects Keep students focused and on task Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment Support pupils with the work left by their teacher No planning required, just strong communication, organisation, and a bit of confidence. Why this role is perfect for graduates If you’re considering teacher training, educational psychology, youth work, or working with young people, this role gives you genuine classroom experience that universities and training providers love to see.
