Electrical Engineer

Reading based, hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 at home)

Up to £70,000 + benefits

UK based IPP working across solar and BESS sites

Since 2012, this independent power provider has been on a simple mission to contribute towards the net zero targets. They have done this through expanding their capabilities and remit in the renewable energy space. Over the last decade, they've expanded their operations to cover both development and construction of assets, allowing the team construct over 40 solar farms and have over 7 GW of projects in development today.

A unique point to the group are the sheer size of their projects. They specifically specialise in NSIP projects, becoming a leader in this space. They also keep a large amount of the work in house, having full development capabilities, EPC and delivery as well as asset ownership.

They have been successful in the gate 2 announcements, and have a large portfolio to build out as a result. This work makes it an extremely exciting time to join this group as you'd have exposure to the full project lifecycle of work, through delivery and procurement stages and into energisation.

One other interesting factor to the role is the team this role falls in. You'll be working with a leader in the grid space with over 15 years of expeirence. This is a great team to be part of if you're ready to learn more about the delivery of projects and are looking for a supportive team to do so in.

 The main focus of the role is to support the technical and grid team, and so an engineering background (Electrical) is essential for this position. Additionally, ideal candidates will have experience with grid connections and project engineering on large scale renewable energy projects.

The role:

As this role is across the full project lifecycle, you'll have a wider variety of responsibilities. The main work will involve:

Overseeing grid milestones and ensuring projetcs are able to reach them in a cost and time efficient way.
Communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including both internal and external.
Identify grid connection opportunities at a high voltage.
Preparing and submitting these grid applications.
Managing relations with DNOs and TOs.
Providing techncial support throughout the construction phases of operations.
Supporting through project acquisitions also.
