Hardware Design Engineer
Salisbury – Upto £75,000
We are recruiting for a Hardware Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering business based near Salisbury. This is a hands-on role where the Hardware Design Engineer will work across new product development, hardware design, testing, and prototyping as part of a small but highly capable engineering team.
As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will be involved from concept through to production, designing reliable, high quality electronic hardware for a range of precision products. You will work closely with firmware, software and mechanical engineers, gaining exposure to the full design lifecycle and seeing your work go straight into real-world applications.

Role overview
• Analogue and digital circuit design, including signal conditioning, sensor interfaces and control circuitry
• PCB design and layout using Altium or similar tools
• Hardware and firmware integration, working closely with embedded engineers
• Hardware testing, debugging, validation and supporting compliance activity
• Prototyping and hands-on development in the electronics lab
• Working with software, mechanical and operations teams to support full product delivery
• Identifying opportunities for improvements, new design approaches and future development work
Skills and experience
• Previous experience as a Hardware Design Engineer or a similar electronics based role
• Strong analogue, digital or mixed signal design background
• Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad or OrCAD
• Understanding of microcontrollers, embedded systems and communication interfaces
• Good awareness of EMC practice, testing and product reliability
• Comfortable taking designs from concept through to test and validation
