Your new role
Working closely with the Finance Director and key budget holders, the role is responsible for leading the delivery of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. The job is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to new financial policies and support senior management by producing key management information for decision-making. You'll be a senior member of the management accounting team delivering expertise, quarterly reporting and technical guidance.
Job duties include:
To lead the financial planning and performance cycle, working directly with the budget holder and other colleagues to produce, communicate and deliver robust financial plans; agreeing/setting parameters; leading regular forecasting activities and producing robust financial reports and analysis together with expert recommendations on key areas of focus.
A co-opted member of the relevant management team, gaining an in-depth understanding of the business units' strategic and operational priorities to then advise and support the translation of the strategic plan into an operational and sustainable financial plan that is underpinned by robust assumptions.
To lead the financial reporting process within their area of responsibility, including local management reporting (monthly), year-end reporting (preparation and analysis of notes and analytical review) and contributing to committee papers (quarterly/annually).
Build and maintain excellent working relationships with budget holders and their teams to aid the subsequent operational monitoring and control of those agreed budgets. Identify areas where financial efficiencies could be achieved, through objective financial review and challenge, seeking improved use of resources and continuous improvement towards best practice.
What you'll need to succeed
ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA qualified accountant with experience leading financial planning and reporting in a large/complex environment.
Experience of financial and budgetary controls systems
Available to start at short notice
