Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance Officer
Location: Lakenheath
Reporting to: HSE Compliance Manager
We are seeking a proactive HSE Compliance Officer.
This is a hands-on role focused on promoting a strong health and safety culture, compliance with legislation, and supporting site teams across health, safety, environmental, and fire disciplines.
You will work with site management to implement policies, maintain compliance systems, and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Review risk assessments and method statements
Conduct COSHH assessments
Support incident investigations and reporting
Maintain contractor documentation
Carry out site audits and inspections
Support training, inductions, and competency records
Maintain HSE documentation in line with legal requirements
Assist with emergency procedures and fire safety systems
Coordinate fire risk assessments and drills
Organise health surveillance and first aid training
Support environmental compliance and reporting
Assist audits, inspections, and compliance checks
Deliver toolbox talks and HSE communications
Maintain training systems and records
Support continuous improvement and HSE projects
Skills & Experience
Experience in an HSE role within operational environments
Strong communication and organisational skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage priorities
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
ISO standards (desirable)
Commitment to improving HSE performance
