Job Title: Port Heavy Plant Operator | Port Operations & Cargo Handling
Location: Immingham
Salary: £15.07 per hour
Employment Type: Full- time, Part - time
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled Port Heavy Plant Operator to join our busy port operations team. This role is essential to ensuring safe, efficient cargo handling, container movement, and day-to-day terminal operations within a fast-paced marine logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a range of heavy plant machinery including reach stackers, loading shovels, tugs, tippers, RoRos, forklifts, and excavators.
Perform safe loading, unloading, stacking, and transporting of cargo within the port.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and report faults in line with port safety procedures.
Support terminal supervisors to maintain efficient yard management and operational flow.
Follow all HSE, port safety, and compliance requirements.
Maintain high housekeeping standards across all operational areas.
Contribute to continuous improvement of port logistics and operational performance.Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience as a Heavy Plant Operator, Port Plant Operator, Reach Stacker Driver, or similar role.
Valid or expired plant operator licences/certifications. Refreshers and novice courses can be available for the right candidate.
Strong understanding of port safety, marine logistics, and heavy machinery operation.
Ability to work shifts, days, nights and weekends.
Reliable team player with strong communication skills.
Physically fit and comfortable working in outdoor industrial environments.Desirable Experience
Background in container handling, bulk cargo operations, or marine terminal work.
Licences for multiple types of heavy plant equipment.
