Job Description

Candour Talent are recruiting a HGV Class 2 Driver for their client based in Chepstow.

  * Employment Type: Permanent/Full Time

  * Working Hours: Monday to Friday - NO WEEKENDS!

  * Salary: From £30k (40hrs + 2x overnight stays per week) + Overtime (1.5x)

This is a great opportunity for a qualified HGV Class 2 Driver to join a well-established and employee-focused business in Chepstow. Would ideally suit a newly qualified driver looking for experience or an experienced driver looking for a less challenging HGV driving position. UK travel only.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate collection of materials from suppliers and delivery of products to all customers.

The Role:

  * To ensure the safe and secure loading and unloading of the vehicles;

  * To assist with the loading of the vehicle when required;

  * To ensure that all relevant paperwork is taken, and a signed POD is returned from the customer.

  * To ensure that the customers receive all items that are loaded for delivery;

  * To always represent the company in a professional and responsible manner.

  * To ensure time sheets are completed correctly.

  * To ensure that driver cards are downloaded on a weekly basis

  * To ensure that driving regulations are followed as stated by the Department of transport.

  * To keep vehicles in good working order; checking oil levels, fluid levels etc;

  * To oversee vehicles are washed and cleaned on a regular basis;

  * Any other duties that may be required from time to time; and

  * Ensure the Health & Safety requirements of the company are met at all times, identifying and notifying as appropriate any potential issues.

The Ideal Candidate:

  * A CPC Qualification

  * Class 2 HGVs driving experience

  * No more than 6 points on driving licence

  * Able to commit to 2/3 overnight stays per week

  * Physically able to help manually load and unload the vehicle within H&S Legislation

  * Basic IT skills

  * Good written and verbal communication skills

  * A self‐motivated proactive approach to work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
