HGV Technician – Night Shift & Breakdown (Totton)

Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a role that combines workshop work with breakdown and roadside assistance? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician to join a growing commercial vehicle service operation in Totton.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys working both in the workshop and on the road, providing essential services to keep vehicles moving safely and efficiently. You’ll be a key part of a professional, supportive team, helping deliver top-quality service to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  * 

    Conduct vehicle inspections and general servicing

  * 

    Diagnose faults and repair vehicle defects efficiently

  * 

    Carry out road tests and MOT preparation/presentation

  * 

    Respond to breakdowns and provide roadside assistance as required

  * 

    Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time

What We’re Looking For:

  * 

    Qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

  * 

    Qualified Roadside Recovery Technician

  * 

    Previous experience within the commercial vehicle sector

  * 

    Full UK Driving Licence (HGV licence preferred but not essential)

  * 

    Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and team-oriented approach

  * 

    Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service

Working Hours & Benefits:

  * 

    Permanent evening shift: 1.00pm – 10.30pm (Mon-Fri, 45-hour week)

  * 

    Split shift option:

      * 

        Week 1: 6.00am – 3.30pm (Mon-Fri)

      * 

        Week 2: 1.00pm – 10.30pm (Mon-Fri)

  * 

    Flexible start and finish times to support work-life balance

  * 

    Very competitive salary, including shift allowance

  * 

    Overtime opportunities available

  * 

    Additional benefits after 12 months
