Job Description

An established manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety, hygiene and environmental compliance at a large operational site in Rotherham.

The Role

  * Full responsibility for site based health, safety, hygiene and environmental management

  * Ensuring compliance with all relevant UK legislation, regulations and best practice

  * Driving continuous improvement in safety culture and environmental performance

  * Acting as the principal HSE lead for audits, regulators and external stakeholders

  * Managing and developing onsite HSE systems, policies and procedures

  * Providing leadership, training and guidance across all levels of the business

  * Managing investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses

  * Producing regular site level HSE and environmental performance reports

  * Maintaining ISO 14001 accreditation and supporting internal and external audits

Key Responsibilities

  * Lead risk assessments, COSHH, SSOW and permits to work

  * Partner with production and engineering teams on equipment, machinery and process risk

  * Chair and lead monthly HSE meetings and action plans

  * Manage HSE induction and ongoing training programmes

  * Oversee waste management, recycling programmes and environmental compliance

  * Support carbon footprint and sustainability reporting through KPIs

  * Manage documentation, certifications and statutory records

Ideal Candidate

  * Proven HSE management experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment

  * Strong working knowledge of UK HSE and environmental legislation

  * NEBOSH and IOSH qualified

  * Experience supporting ISO 14001 and environmental management systems

  * Confident communicator with the ability to influence across all levels

  * Proactive, organised, and values driven

  * Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel when required
