Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Northwood who are seeking a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant - Role Overview
As a Humanities Graduate TA, you will support teachers and students across subjects such as History, Geography, RE, and Social Sciences. Duties include:
Supporting students in lessons, small groups, or 1:1 across the Humanities department.
Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
Helping students develop subject knowledge, confidence, and study skills.
Supporting behaviour management and ensuring a positive learning environment.
Assisting with resource creation, display work, and departmental organisation.
Providing cover or supervision when needed (training provided).
Helping prepare students for assessments, homework, and coursework tasks.
Requirements
A degree in a Humanities subject (History, Geography, Philosophy, Politics, Sociology, etc.).
A passion for education and desire to support young people.
Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students.
A proactive, enthusiastic, and supportive approach.
Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
