Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Industrial role
Reporting to the Service Coordinator you will:
Read and follow electrical schematics to wire up switchgear, control circuits, and protection relays.
Install and connect backup generators, including all power cabling and control wiring for transfer switches.
Build and wire industrial control panels, ensuring all cables are neatly routed, labelled, and tagged for easy troubleshooting.
Perform electrical testing using mustimeters and insulation testers to verify wiring accuracy before power-up.
Measure, bend, and bolt copper busbars inside switchgear, making sure all connections are torqued to spec.
Maintain a safe workspace by following strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and local electrical codes.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Experience in installing, wiring, and commissioning industrial switchgear and backup generator systems, including heavy power cabling and ATS integration.
Must hold a current 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification and a completed AM2 assessment.
Proven ability to perform initial verification, periodic inspection, and testing, supported by a C&G 2391 qualification or equivalent.
Proficient in interpreting complex electrical schematics to construct, wire, and troubleshoot industrial control panels to high standards.
Committed to workplace safety, with demonstrated experience in LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and strict compliance with industrial electrical standards.

Able to coordinate effectively with colleagues and clients, maintaining a professional approach while working on-site or in a workshop environment
Highly focused on accuracy with a commitment to producing precise service documentation and maintaining neatly routed, well-labelled wiring systems.
