IT Technician
Salary: £25,000 - £27,500
Location: Multi‑site (College Environment) - Full UK Driving Licence Required
Contract: Full‑time, Permanent
Overview
We are seeking a proactive and customer‑focused IT Technician to deliver high‑quality technical support across multiple sites. This role is hands‑on and varied, providing front‑line support for users.
The ideal candidate will have strong desktop support experience, solid troubleshooting skills, and working knowledge of SCCM within a large or distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1st and 2nd line support for staff and students across multiple college locations.
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other end‑user devices.
Use SCCM for software deployment, imaging, patching, and asset management.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
Escalate complex technical incidents to senior IT staff or third‑party providers when required.
Support classroom and teaching technologies, including AV equipment.
Maintain accurate IT documentation including asset records, procedures, and support logs.
Contribute to ongoing IT projects and improvement initiatives across the college.
Drive between sites as required to deliver hands‑on support.Essential Skills & Experience
Broad experience in desktop and end‑user support within a busy IT environment.
Hands‑on experience of SCCM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) for imaging, deployments, and patching.
Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and general networking fundamentals.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.Desirable Skills
Experience working in education or multi‑site environments.
Knowledge of Intune, Azure AD, or hybrid environments.
Familiarity with ITIL practices.
Experience supporting AV/Smart Classroom technologies.Personal Attributes

Confident supporting users at all technical levels.
Positive attitude with a strong commitment to delivering quality service.
