Job Description

Your new company 
Hays Recruitment have partnered with Leicestershire County Council in the search for a Lead Firewall Specialist. 

Mentoring and guiding technical specialists and other technical staff is key as part of the knowledge-sharing ethos within the team.
You will also be expected to co-ordinate small teams of technicians to deliver new services and service improvements.

There will be occasional out of hours requirements for planned works or major incidents, therefore you will need to be within an hour of the location and have your own transport.
Sponsorship is not available for this role. 
 Your new role 
As the SME, you will lead on firewall elements and provide 3rd line support. There is both a BAU and a project element to the role. You will be one of the lead engineers in the team and your role will combine line management duties, mentoring junior members of staff and providing in-depth technical knowledge and expertise. You will own, support, install and administer corporate firewall and perimeter security solutions plus:

Advise on technical and security standards to ensure compliance, security of systems and services to maintain high service availability.
To mentor and guide technical specialists and other technical staff.
To co-ordinate small teams of technicians across I&T to deliver new services and service improvements.
To plan and manage the work of Technical Specialists and other technical resources as required.
To ensure that services are delivered to agreed SLAs.What you'll need to succeed 

Strong technical and hands on understanding of firewalls
Tech stack includes Cisco, Checkpoint and FTD
Lead / Senior experience
