Learning Support Assistant - Secondary Schools Location - Wellingborough and surrounding areas Agency- Teaching personnel Position- Learning Support Assistant  Contract - Full time, Monday- Friday Start date - September 2026 Salary - Competitive daily rate, dependant on experience About the role Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join welcoming secondary schools in Wellingborough or the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to provide individual and small-group support to students. Key responsibilities -Provide 1:1 and small group support to students in the classroom. - Support pupils with additional learning needs and SEND. - Help students develop their confidence, independence and social skills. - Assist teachers with differentiated learning activities.  - Support positive behaviour and promote an inclusive learning environment. - Encourage students to engage with their learning and achieve their potential. - Monitor students' progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff. - Support students across KS3 and KS4 as required. The ideal candidate  We are looking for someone who is:  - Patient, caring and approachable. - Passionate about helping young people succeed. - Confident working with secondary-aged students - Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. - Reliable, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team. - Experienced in working with children or young people (SEND experience is desirable) - Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or previous school experience would be an advantage, although Teaching Personnel may consider candidates with transferable experience.
