We are proud to be working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wellingborough who are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a long-term maternity cover basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners while gaining valuable experience within a supportive primary school environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and other members of staff to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing. The school is looking for someone who is patient, proactive and committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Role
Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils across the primary age range
Supporting children with additional learning needs and SEN
Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities
Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
Supporting children with their literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum learning
Providing encouragement and reassurance to pupils who may require additional support
Supporting positive behaviour and helping children develop appropriate classroom routines
Assisting with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and other support staff
Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate
Has a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
Is patient, caring, enthusiastic and approachable
Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team
Has a calm and positive approach to managing behaviour and challenges
Previous experience working in a primary school, SEN, childcare, youth work or a similar setting is desirable but not essential
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Is reliable, flexible and available for a full-time long-term placement
