Logistics Transport Planner – Hull - £35,000

 We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Logistics Transport Planner to join a fast-paced operation at the heart of a dynamic supply chain.
 This role is central to ensuring the smooth planning and execution of daily transport activities, aligning closely with vessel schedules and customer demands. You will play a key role in coordinating deliveries, optimising routes, and ensuring goods are delivered efficiently, on time, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.

 Key Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and allocate vehicles and drivers to meet delivery deadlines
Optimise routes to maximise efficiency and reduce fuel and operating costs
Coordinate with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams
Monitor live operations and respond quickly to changes or issues
Ensure compliance with DVSA regulations and O-Licence requirements
Monitor driver hours in line with EU Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive
Support audit preparation and compliance checks
Allocate and brief drivers on daily schedules and requirements
Act as a key point of contact for drivers, resolving issues promptly
Maintain driver records, licences, and training documentation
Ensure all vehicle documentation (insurance, tax, roadworthiness) is up to date
Track KPIs such as on-time delivery and fuel usage
Maintain accurate transport and compliance records
Support incident reporting and investigations
 About You:

Previous experience in transport planning or logistics coordination
Strong understanding of DVSA regulations, O-Licence requirements, and driver hours legislation
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
Confident communicator, both written and verbal
IT literate, with experience using transport systems and Microsoft Office
Able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with commercial awareness
Flexible, hands-on approach to work
