Maintenance Engineer & Hygiene Manager
Our client, one of the Scotland’s premier manufacturers of food products is looking for an experienced, professional Maintenance Engineer and a Hygiene Manager to work within their manufacturing facility in the Glasgow area. The key to this role is ability to work within a fast-moving production and manufacturing company within the food production industry maintaining and fault finding on a range of mechanical and electrical systems and for compliance to Hygiene in a food manufacturing environment to audit standards.
Maintenance Engineer
This role requires applicants who are able to work within a trained team of electrical and mechanical engineers/fitters based on site. The role will involve the reactive and proactive electrical maintenance work on site. Managing your own workloads and equipment to allow the company to function effectively. This role requires the applicant to work within a team, providing electrical fault-finding and maintenance to a fast-moving production environment. This is a hands-on Engineering role and requires applicants who are going to be involved in the maintenance of the production equipment.
The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong electrical service/repair engineering with a strong hands-on working knowledge of motors, drives, plc, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, alternators, and controls (the role will require some mechanical exposure but not a formal qualification). Applicants working within a food production, drinks production, FMCG manufacturing or production presently would be best suited to this role as would applicants looking to return to this market.
Hygiene Manager
This role is responsible for the companies Hygiene Team, coaching, developing process and adherence to strict standards whilst making sure there are compliances for audits. This will include scheduling, performance management & training, hygiene schedules & cleaning procedures, with regular audits including full equipment strip-downs. Conduct shift inspections to monitor safety and hygiene standards whilst achieving technical targets for microbiological trends, HACCP & equipment release. Investigate microbiological issues, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions. Maintain documentation in line with BRC Global Food Safety Standards whilst looking at continuous improvement of the Hygiene Quality System.
Applicants will preferably have present or previous Hygiene Management or Supervisory experience. Applicants should be strong communicators with ability to lead a team with a hands-on approach to problem solving. Skilled in Food Hygiene within a manufacturing environment to can develop process and standards.
You will receive a competitive salary of £40-45k (depending on experience), pension scheme, and holidays, complimentary food and drink, discount scheme on product. Working hours for the Engineer are Sunday to Thursday 12pm – 8.30pm, the Hygiene role on Monday to Friday with a flexible work pattern.
