We are on the hunt for an experienced Male Support Worker to join our Adult Services team in Kinson a gentleman with complex care needs while bringing energy, compassion and positivity to every day.
Due to the needs of these people we support, we can only consider applications from male candidates with experience with Autism or Complex Care, supporting people on a 2:1 basis.

The role
You would be providing support to Max, who lives in his own home in Northbourne. Max communicates in his own unique and meaningful way, using a combination of visual aids, PECS cards, signs, gestures and his digital communication aid. This gives him a voice to enable him to express his choices and preferences each day.
The role is varied and rewarding, with opportunities to support Max to enjoy a range of activities both at home and in the local community. This role would involve taking part in a range of different activities from taking leisurely walks in the new forest, visiting the local café for a drink and a cake, having a kick around with a football, listening to music and completing puzzles.
Working in Max's team is a 2:1 service which means you will always be working as part of a team to provide the best support possible. This would include personal care, medication and meal preparation, but just as importantly, you’ll help him enjoy life, stay active and achieve his goals.
At the heart of everything we do is promoting the independence of the person we support, so maintaining a consistent routine, along with clear and firm boundaries, is essential to supporting Max effectively.
Hours of work – Full Time or Part Time available
This would be a mixture of shifts Monday – Sunday
7am – 10pm
This role would include alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment)
A support workers day would include:
* Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
* Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
* Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
* Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
