Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

 We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering company in Sheffield. This role is ideal for someone with strong 3D CAD experience and a solid background in mechanical design.

 Responsibilities:

Produce 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.

Develop mechanical components, assemblies, and full system designs.

Carry out design calculations, material selection, and engineering analysis.

Work closely with production, fabrication, and project teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.

Support prototype builds, testing, and product improvement activities.

Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control.

Liaise with internal teams and customers to understand requirements and deliver effective design solutions.

Requirements:

Proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).

Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Strong understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacture.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.

Relevant engineering qualification (HND, Degree, or equivalent).
