Job Description

Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation with multiple sites across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth they are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to join their site leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  * Lead and supervise the on-site mechanical maintenance team

  * Support continuous improvement initiatives across plant and equipment

  * Plan and deliver maintenance and improvement projects

  * Implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies

  * Identify potential plant risks and support long-term maintenance planning

  * Monitor completion and quality of mechanical maintenance tasks

  * Work closely with the electrical team to support system improvements

  * Identify skills gaps within the team and support training and development

  * Ensure statutory inspections are completed and any follow-up work is actioned

  * Promote strong health & safety practices and lead regular safety briefings

Skills & Experience

  * Previous experience supervising or leading a mechanical maintenance team

  * Experience working within a manufacturing, production or heavy industry environment

  * Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, fault finding and plant equipment

  * Experience with maintenance planning and inspection processes

  * Engineering qualification (HNC, Degree or equivalent preferred)

  * Health & safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH desirable

  * Experience managing budgets or maintenance spend

  * Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)

  * PLC knowledge would be beneficial but not essential
