Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to oversee delivery on a Cat A commercial fit-out project. This is a freelance role suited to someone with a strong background in mechanical building services, capable of managing site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  * 

    Manage and supervise all mechanical installations on site (HVAC, ductwork, pipework, plant)

  * 

    Coordinate subcontractors and ensure alignment with project programme

  * 

    Work closely with the Project Manager and other trades to ensure smooth delivery

  * 

    Monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications

  * 

    Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed and documented

  * 

    Attend and lead site meetings, reporting on progress and issues

  * 

    Manage snagging, commissioning, and handover processes

Requirements:

  * 

    Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on Cat A or commercial fit-out projects

  * 

    Strong knowledge of mechanical building services systems

  * 

    SMSTS (or equivalent) certification

  * 

    CSCS card (relevant level)

  * 

    First Aid qualification (preferred)

  * 

    Excellent communication and coordination skills

  * 

    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Desirable:

  * 

    Experience working in live environments or fast-track programmes

  * 

    Strong subcontractor management experience

  * 

    Familiarity with project reporting tools and software
