Model Maker – Prototype & Development
Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Salary: Up To £32k + Benefits
Summary:
We’re looking for a skilled Model Maker to join a high-end engineering and manufacturing business in Oxfordshire, known for delivering innovative solutions to the automotive, aerospace and defence sectors. This hands-on role would suit someone with a background in woodworking, pattern making or prototype model fabrication, capable of producing accurate, high-quality models and tooling from a range of materials.
The Role:

Create detailed models, prototypes and jigs from wood, foam, resin and similar materials.
*
Interpret technical drawings and CAD data to deliver precise and aesthetically finished models.
*
Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools to exacting standards.
*
Work closely with engineers and designers to ensure models meet form, fit and function requirements.
*
Maintain workshop safety, equipment and material organisation.
About You:
*
Proven experience as a Model Maker, Pattern Maker or Wood Machinist.
*
Skilled in traditional woodworking and finishing techniques.
*
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to fine tolerances.
*
Knowledge of CNC routing, 3D printing or composite materials would be beneficial.
*
Reliable, self-motivated and passionate about craftsmanship.
