Job Description

As a senior technician within production, specifically the paint shop. Prep and Polish experience is required. Working Shifts - 0600 to 1400 and 1400 to 2200, rotating every 2 weeks. Reporting to the Team Leader/Group Leader at McLaren Automotive, you will take on a role in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation within one of our paint zonal areas, ensuring production continue a consistent paint application process to a high standard. Flexibility is key. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure all health and safety guidelines are adhered too, the paint process (PES) is followed to ensure a smooth finish to our supercars and the desired standard is achieved through our built-in quality stations. Any concerns to the finish of the panels are quickly escalated to your line manager. You can learn all processes within your zone to ensure coverage of any absence. Your contributions will be instrumental in achieving our ambitious goals as a company.
What You'll Do
  * Understand and follow detailed process documents relating to the painting of vehicles.
  * Ensure that your station operations on each vehicle are completed within takt and to a high standard.
  * Ability to escalate to your leader any concerns that may be affecting the quality, cost or productivity of the panels being painted.
  * Ensure 5s within your work area in line with McLaren expectations.
  * Maintain standards set such as, using the uniform/ clothing provided.
  * Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  * Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards is essential. The technician must always adhere to safety protocols.
  * Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested by your leader.
  * Flexibility with the ability to learn is essential to ensure coverage within the zone as you would be expected to learn multiple processes

  * The understanding of processes/work instructions to deliver a consistent product.
  * The understanding of workplace safety risk assessments and their meaning.
  * Ability to make sound and logical decisions.
  * Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  * Proven experience and knowledge within paint application is essential.
