Gafoor is a dynamic and rapidly growing family-owned business in Preston looking for an experienced Night Hygiene Manager with a strong background in FMCG /food manufacturing.
Gafoor is a key player in their sector operating in a modern, BRC accredited facility supplying some of the biggest and most progressive names in the grocery, retail, and wholesale sector on a national basis.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will lead and manage a team of night cleaners, ensuring all operational and facility areas are maintained to the highest industry standards.
You will often be the main point of contact for the site during the night and the ability to deal with security or wider management issues is essential. This role requires strict adherence to health and safety processes and procedures while fostering collaboration across all departments.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the technical, operations and engineering teams to address matters which have the potential to impact food safety or productivity.
Sponsorship is not available for this role so candidates will need to demonstrate their right to live and work in the UK indefinitely.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all technical and hygiene requirements.
Maintain accurate records for audit purposes.
Manage and develop the hygiene team effectively.
Oversee the site's relationship with chemical suppliers.
Host and lead hygiene audits and visits.
Communicate hygiene-related matters across relevant departments.
Take ownership of non-conformances and proactively resolve potential issues.
Promote a culture of quality and food safety awareness, leading by example.
Encourage staff to report quality or food safety issues, reward proactive reporting, and provide feedback on corrective actions.
Support food safety and quality management systems through HACCP participation, audits, and maintaining "audit-ready" status.About you:
The candidate must have skills and experiences in the following areas:
Essential:
Strong leadership qualities, able to inspire confidence and lead a multi-cultural team.
3 - 5 years' experience managing people ideally within FMCG / food manufacturing sector although this is not essential.
A can-do attitude, able to communicate effectively at all levels
A comprehensive understanding of modern GMP
Experience operating to BRC standards
The ability to multi task and balance multiple priorities
Proficient in MS Office;
Excellent Problem-solving and decision-makingDesirable:
IOSH Certificate
Level 3 Food safety certificate
HACCP Training
