Primary Teaching Assistant – Full Time (Community Primary School in Swansea, SA1)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Holidays: Weekends, half terms and full summer holidays off!
Pay: From £89.38 per day, rising to £100 per day for Higher Level TA level (negotiable based on experience).
About the Role:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and proactive Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Swansea (SA1).
This is a full-time position, perfect for someone who loves working with children and wants to make a real difference every day.
You’ll work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, provide one-to-one or small group support, and help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.
Your Day-to-Day Role Will Include:
Supporting pupils with their learning during lessons, helping to explain activities and reinforce key skills.
Working 1:1 or in small groups to provide extra guidance, encouragement, and confidence-building.
Assisting the class teacher with preparing learning materials, displays, and classroom resources.
Helping to manage behaviour positively and maintain a calm, supportive learning environment.
Supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) to ensure they can access learning fully.
Supervising pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and transitions throughout the school day.
Providing feedback to the class teacher on pupil progress and wellbeing.
Promoting inclusion, friendship, and a love of learning across the classroom.
Who We’re Looking For:
You don’t need school-based experience to apply — we welcome transferable skills and experience from related roles, including:
Social Care or Health & Social Care
Childcare, Nursery Nurse, Daycare or Crèche work
⚽ Sports Coaching or Youth Leadership
Teaching Assistant or HLTA experience
Sociology, Social Work, or Childcare graduates
Nursery Nurses or childcare Level 3 or equivilant (the school also has a FLying start setting)
