Nursery Practitioner

Location: Beckton

Role Overview

To provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment that supports the learning and development of children aged 0-5 years, in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Childcare & Welfare: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children, including assisting with personal care routines (feeding, nappy changing/toileting, rest periods).

  * 

    Education & Activities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate play and learning activities to promote holistic development (physical, social, emotional, and cognitive

  * 

    Assessment: Act as a Key Person for a group of children, observing, assessing, and accurately recording their progress to inform planning and individual support.

  * 

    Safeguarding: Uphold and adhere to all Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures.

  * 

    Partnership: Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with parents/carers, keeping them informed of their child's daily activities and developmental progress.

  * 

    Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the nursery team to maintain a clean, organised, and positive setting.

Essential Requirements

  * 

    Qualification: Minimum NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (or equivalent).

  * 

    Knowledge: Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and statutory safeguarding practices.

  * 

    Skills: Excellent communication, patience, creativity, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  * 

    Checks: Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Disclosure
