I have a new opportunity for a Programme Operations Manager to join a new facility in the South Wales region. This is an incredible opportunity to be part of a new 100-million-dollar site set to go live in 2027. You will be joining a specialist team of project and engineering professionals and reporting directly to the business's General Manager. The company is a global specialist in the pharmaceutical industry, and this is a rare opportunity to be part of such a unique and exciting project. The post offers an impressive salary of circa £80k with flex either side, dependent on the individual's experience and current annual salary/package. In addition to this, there is a 15% bonus, share options, 4% flexible bonus to purchase additional holidays, etc., 37.5-hour contract week, company pension scheme, 25 days holiday + bank holidays (with additional bonus purchase scheme of holidays up to 5 days) and much more.
Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the role will focus on preparing the site for successful startup and sustained operations. The Programme Operations Manager will work closely alongside the Project Manager and Quality Manager, ensuring that people, processes, and plans are aligned for operational go-live in early 2027.
Key Responsibilities of the Programme Operations Manager:
* Lead operational planning for a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, from early design phases through startup and handover to operations.
* Develop and manage an end-to-end operational project plan, aligned to the overall site programme and startup milestones.
* Coordinate product transfer and startup plans, ensuring readiness across manufacturing, supply chain, and supporting functions.
* Drive resource planning, identifying capability, capacity, and timing requirements to support operational readiness.
* Manage projects end-to-end, including scope, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
* Identify, mitigate, and track operational risks that could impact startup or ongoing manufacturing performance.
* Maintain clear, structured communication with stakeholders across the project, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
* Act as a key interface between project delivery and operational teams to ensure a smooth transition into live operations.
Key requirements of the Programme Operations Manager
* Degree qualified in Business, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or Operations/Supply Chain
* Candidates must have experience in high-value projects regarding the start-up of a multi-million dollar facility.
* Highly experienced in managing cross-functional projects on site, which include Finance, Supply Chain, Quality and New Equipment implementation
* Excellent Finance and Supply Chain background
* Strong IT and data analysis skills
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and graphics (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
