Operations Manager – Manufacturing

Location: Huntingdon

Salary: £55K - £65K DOE

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead end-to-end manufacturing operations. You will ensure products are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets and customer requirements

  * 

    Oversee production planning, scheduling, and resource utilisation

  * 

    Monitor KPIs (OEE, productivity, downtime, scrap) and drive performance improvements

  * 

    Identify inefficiencies and implement Lean / continuous improvement initiatives

  * 

    Manage, coach, and develop supervisors and team leaders

  * 

    Ensure effective workforce planning, training, and performance management

  * 

    Oversee equipment reliability, maintenance programmes, and capital improvements

  * 

    Champion health & safety compliance and promote a strong safety culture

  * 

    Manage budgets, control costs, and support financial performance targets

  * 

    Collaborate with warehouse, quality, HR, and commercial teams to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

Essential:

  * 

    Proven experience in an Operations or Senior Manufacturing Manager role

  * 

    Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and UK H&S regulations

  * 

    Experience with performance management and continuous improvement

  * 

    Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  * 

    Good financial and commercial awareness

Desirable:

  * 

    Degree or qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations

  * 

    Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma experience

  * 

    Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, etc.)

  * 

    Experience in multi-shift or high-volume environments
