Operations Manager / Production Manager

Location: Somerset
 Salary: £46,000 – £55,000 DOE
 Hours: Monday to Friday, Days Only – No Shift Work
 Contract: Full-time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations / Production Manager to oversee the daily running of a busy food production butchery. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on maintaining high standards across production, packing, fulfilment and value-added product lines.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and technical teams to ensure operational efficiency, food safety compliance and consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations across production, packing and fulfilment
Maintain high standards in yield optimisation and operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and regulatory requirements
Manage production planning, labour allocation and workflow efficiency
Maintain accurate traceability and production documentation
Support recipe management, yield monitoring and production costing
Train, lead and develop production teams
Drive continuous improvement across production processes and standards
Skills & Experience

Strong background in production planning and operations management
Experience within an FSA-approved or SALSA-aligned environment
Knowledge of retail and wholesale packing, labelling and traceability
Experience using food safety and production management systems
Strong leadership experience within a fast-paced production environment
Good understanding of HACCP, CCPs and food safety legislation
Excellent organisational and communication skills
