Operations Manager - MEP (Mechanical Bias) Salary: £110,000 - £120,000 + package Location: London / Greater London We are working with a well-established and highly regarded MEP contractor to appoint an experienced Operations Manager - MEP (Mechanical Bias) to provide senior operational and technical leadership across major Building Services projects in London. This is a senior position for an experienced MEP professional who can oversee complex project delivery, provide technical direction and ensure consistently high standards across multiple workstreams. The business has an excellent reputation within the MEP market, a strong pipeline of major projects and an experienced leadership team. The Role You will provide senior operational and technical leadership across MEP projects, with a strong mechanical bias and a broad understanding of electrical Building Services. A key focus of the role will be the early identification and management of technical, construction, quality and delivery risks, ensuring issues are identified, challenged and resolved before they impact programme, cost or quality. Key responsibilities include: Providing senior operational leadership across major MEP projects. Overseeing project delivery, ensuring programmes, quality and technical standards are maintained. Providing strong mechanical technical leadership across design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning. Supporting and developing project teams, engineers and specialist subcontractors. Identifying and managing technical, design, construction and quality risks throughout the project lifecycle. Reviewing design information, drawings and specifications to identify buildability, compliance and interface risks. Ensuring robust quality standards and inspection processes are maintained across projects. Identifying potential defects and issues early, driving preventative action and effective close-out. Reviewing ITPs, inspection records, testing and commissioning requirements. Managing interfaces between mechanical, electrical and specialist systems. Providing technical challenge to project teams, consultants and subcontractors. Supporting the resolution of complex technical, quality and delivery issues. Driving lessons learned and continuous improvement across the operation. Working closely with senior management to improve project performance, delivery standards and operational processes. About You We are looking for a senior MEP professional with a strong mechanical background and significant experience within an MEP contracting environment. You will have: Extensive experience delivering major MEP / Building Services projects. A strong mechanical Building Services background. Good understanding of electrical services and wider MEP interfaces. Experience providing senior operational or project leadership across complex schemes. Strong technical understanding of design, installation, testing and commissioning. Proven experience identifying and managing technical, construction and quality risk. Experience with quality control, inspections, ITPs and defect prevention. Strong commercial and contractual awareness. The confidence and credibility to challenge issues and drive practical solutions. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
