Job Description

A thriving and inclusive 3-form entry primary school in the Hulme area of Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to join its friendly and supportive team. The role is to start immediately and will continue as an ongoing temporary position, with the potential to become a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, playing a vital role in supporting pupils as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. The teacher will be expected to create a warm, nurturing, and stimulating classroom where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum.
Building upon pupils' early learning experiences to develop strong foundations in reading, writing, and maths.
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes curiosity, confidence, and independence.
Using assessment effectively to track progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
Working collaboratively with the two other Year 1 teachers to share planning, ideas, and good practice.
Maintaining excellent communication with parents and carers to support learning and development at home.
Contributing to the wider life of the school through events, clubs, and enrichment activities.To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

Hold a relevant Teaching qualification
Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
