No.: CJD(phone number removed)C Location: Based near Dunfermline Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 This is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, an industry-leading, green-minded Multidisciplinary Consultancy looking to broaden their geographical reach by establishing a new office location in Scotland. Renowned for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are currently on the lookout for a capable, passionate Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design who is willing to win, manage, and successfully deliver a number of challenging projects. You will have a hand in building and leading a newly-established team of design engineers, based near the picturesque, historical city of Dunfermline. Benefits for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include (but are not limited to): - Highly-competitive salary - Employee Pension Scheme - Generous annual leave entitlement - Dedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD), focusing on career progression - Opportunities to win and deliver a diverse selection of infrastructure engineering projects across the region - Proactively influencing the direction of the company Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include: - Delivering a number of exciting engineering projects - Leading the day-to-day running of engineering projects, including budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, and successful delivery/implementation - Providing mentorship and support to colleagues throughout their careers, overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) - Managing important professional relations with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors - Preparing, checking, and submitting technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements - Enforcing company policies, procedures, and best practice at all times - Upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times - Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, etc. Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include: - A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering - Possess Chartered Status with a relevant, recognised Professional Body - Extensive experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK-based consultancy setting - Demonstrable experience of working with infrastructure (particularly drainage and highways), housing developments, and energy-based projects - Experience of earthworks design and drainage network modelling - Proficient in the use of various software packages (including Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, etc.) - Considerable experience of writing, checking, and amending a variety of reports for submission - Prior experience of leading both projects and people within the sector - Experience of managing client and stakeholder relations - Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills - Hold a full, valid UK driving licence Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include: - A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or similar, relevant discipline) - Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments - Experience of preparing Transport Assessments - Experience of working in a public-facing role If you are interested in the role of Principal Civil Engineer, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
