Job Description

NES Fircroft is looking for a Principal WTG Engineer to support their Offshore wind client, based in London.

This is a long term, rolling 12 month (outside IR35) contract and will require the individual to be based 3 days per week in the office.

As Principal Engineer, you will report to the Floating ILA Engineering Manager within the Offshore Wind business line, supporting all activities related to turbine design and interface with the turbine OEM.

The client is ideally looking for a Chartered Engineer, with aeroelastic / aero-dynamics design experience, on both floating & fixed offshore wind substructures.

Responsibilities:

Building and verification of aeroelastic model of the turbine
Manage the turbine controller tuning and development
Perform all required checks of the turbine and controller
Support the turbine tower design
Monitor, support and verify the ILA
Laise with external contractors related to the turbine model and controller
Participate in the technical meetings with clients
Provide a support to the Offshore Wind business unit activities, in terms of advanced and non-conventional structural analyses and numerical simulations
Write comprehensive and top quality industry standard technical reportsAdditional requirements:

Technical skills: codes and standards, including DNV and IEC, turbine design, WTG
IT skills: engineering software (OrcaFlex, Bladed, Fast) and MS365
