Production Engineer – Electro-mechanical
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £40k-£45k

About The Role:
Platform Recruitment has partnered with a specialist manufacturer of precision electro-mechanical instruments, who are seeking a hands-on Production Engineer to support and enhance their manufacturing operations. You’ll focus on improving processes, supporting day-to-day production needs, and helping bring new and customised products smoothly into manufacture. This role suits someone practical, organised and proactive who enjoys varied engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Provide day-to-day engineering support to engineering teams

  * Lead improvement tasks and contribute to cross-team problem solving

  * Create tooling, fixtures and aids to improve build efficiency

  * Drive continuous improvement activities

  * Prototype & test products using in-house equipment

  * Produce CAD models and drawings for updates or custom requirements

  * Liaise with suppliers or customers to clarify technical details

Key Requirements:

  * Strong background in electro-mechanical products

  * 3D CAD design experience – Solidworks preferable

  * Good understanding of manufacturing quality principles

  * Well organised with strong planning and documentation abilities

  * Hands on – prototyping & testing

  * Workshop skills

  * Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
