Job Description

The Production Director will lead the next stage of operational maturity-embedding lean principles, stabilising performance, and developing a capable leadership team. This hands-on, visible role suits someone who thrives on building structure and discipline in a bespoke, fast-paced manufacturing environment. 12-month FTC/interim, with potential to go perm.

Description

Lead and optimise production operations across a 130-person manufacturing site.
Introduce and embed lean manufacturing practices and performance metrics (quality, waste, efficiency).
Develop and coach production management and frontline teams, building capability and engagement.
Strengthen production systems, processes, and reporting structures to support growth and scalability.
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and H&S to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable output.
Play a key role in preparing the business for multi-site manufacturing.Profile

A successful Production professional should have:

Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments.Proven track record in senior production or operations leadership within manufacturing.
Experience of leading lean and continuous improvement programmes.
Strong people leadership - able to gain trust, inspire change, and develop teams.
Comfortable in a low-volume, high-variation / bespoke production environment.
Ideally from timber, joinery, or building products, but open to wider manufacturing backgrounds.
Resilient, pragmatic, and delivery-focused - capable of making a rapid, tangible impact.Job Offer
