Location: Birmingham | Salary: £55,000 – £58,000 + Car Allowance & Bonus

Cruise Control Recruitment is looking for a high-calibre Production Manager to oversee plant reliability, output, and continuous improvement in a dynamic Birmingham-based environment. Your Role: Driving Operational Excellence

Reporting directly to the Business Unit Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of 20 professionals (including Team Leaders and Senior Lab Technicians) while working a Continental shift pattern.

Your core focus areas will include:

    P&L & Output Accountability: Managing daily budgets, throughput rates, standard hours, and recovery planning.

  * 

    Operational Improvement: Championing "Zero Harm" and "Zero Defects" through robust Lean, 6S, and Six Sigma initiatives.

  * 

    Leadership: Mentoring, motivating, and developing your team to ensure peak performance.

  * 

    Strategic Execution: Translating high-level business goals into daily, measurable actions on the shop floor.

  * 

    Safety Culture: Maintaining rigorous compliance and driving a proactive safety-first mindset.

What You Bring to the Table

You are an experienced manager who understands that success is found in the details of the metrics.

    Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in a fast-paced manufacturing or operations environment.

  * 

    Data-Driven: Deep understanding of production metrics, KPIs, and quality management.

  * 

    Methodology Expert: Practical, hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and 6S.

  * 

    People Person: Exceptional ability to lead, inspire, and manage diverse teams.

  * 

    Problem Solver: A decisive leader who remains calm and effective under pressure.

  * 

    Desirable: IOSH qualification (though full training can be provided on-site).
