Job Description

M&E Project Manager – Worcester – £50K–£65K

This role is with a growing M&E contractor based in Worcester. The business has been owned and run by a first class MD for the last 7 years. The work is nationwide, but the way they operate means they want someone who can get into the office regularly and work closely with the team.

They’ve tried fully remote PMs before and it didn’t work. The preference now is someone who wants to be part of the business day-to-day, bounce problems off the team and take real ownership of projects. There’s still flexibility – the odd day from home is fine and start/finish times aren’t rigid – but this isn’t a remote role.

The position itself is very hands-on. You won’t just sit behind a programme and chase emails. You’ll be involved from start to finish – design input, pricing support, running the job, dealing with clients, and getting it over the line. Think QS, PM and account manager all rolled into one.

Projects are typically £40K–£500K and cover the full mechanical package – heating, ventilation, AC and some electrical. Most of the work is cradle-to-grave rather than being dropped into the middle of someone else’s project.

They’re not looking for a technical boffin. What matters more is someone who can take responsibility, communicate well, and actually deliver. Personality and attitude are just as important as experience.

This would suit someone earlier in their PM career who wants to grow with a business rather than sit in a big company doing one small part of the job. The plan is to develop someone internally as the company grows.

Salary is flexible depending on experience, realistically £50K–£70K.
