Project Manager – Major Commercial Refurbishment

Permanent or Fixed-Term Contract | Bristol

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering a landmark £74m commercial refurbishment and office fit-out project in the centre of Bristol.

This high-profile development will transform an existing office complex into a premium, sustainable workplace, incorporating modern office space and first-class amenities. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering this technically challenging refurbishment, working as part of an experienced project team.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing sections of the project from planning through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

You'll work closely with the construction, commercial and design teams, coordinating subcontractors, managing client expectations and driving successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  * Manage the day-to-day delivery of key elements of the project.

  * Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site management teams.

  * Monitor programme performance and ensure project milestones are achieved.

  * Ensure the highest standards of health, safety and quality are maintained.

  * Work collaboratively with the commercial and design teams to resolve project challenges.

  * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.

  * Identify project risks and implement effective solutions.

  * Support project commissioning, handover and completion.

About You

We're looking for a motivated Project Manager with experience delivering complex commercial construction projects for a main contractor.

Essential Requirements

  * Previous experience as a Project Manager within a main contracting environment.

  * Experience delivering refurbishment, retrofit, cut & carve or commercial office fit-out projects.

  * Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills.

  * Ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining programme and quality objectives.

  * Good understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts.

  * SMSTS, CSCS Black Card and a full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  * Experience working for a Tier One or established regional contractor.

  * Relevant construction qualification such as a degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
