Job Description

An established food manufacturing and distribution business with over 30 years of industry experience is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join the team at its Bradford depot. Operating a fast-paced seven-day operation with a six-day delivery service, the site plays a key role in supplying fresh and chilled products to customers across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced quality professional to lead food safety and quality standards within a busy depot environment while managing and developing a small but highly effective quality team.

The Role

Reporting to the Depot Technical Manager, you will take responsibility for maintaining and improving food safety, quality, and compliance standards across the depot.

This is a hands-on role that works closely with operational teams to ensure that all products received, stored, and dispatched meet the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  * Leading internal and external audits

  * Managing and improving the site Quality Management System

  * Ensuring compliance with legal, customer, and food safety requirements

  * Overseeing the inspection and quality management of incoming and outgoing stock

  * Identifying and addressing non-compliance issues and implementing corrective actions

  * Investigating quality and food safety complaints and ensuring timely resolution

  * Completing departmental KPIs and performance reviews

  * Supporting the site in achieving strong results during external audits

  * Championing a positive food safety and quality culture

  * Building strong working relationships across departments and with technical teams at other sites

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused quality professional who thrives in a fast-paced food environment.

You will ideally have:

  * Experience working with the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety and quality systems within a food business

  * Experience leading or supervising a team

  * HACCP and Food Safety Level 3 qualifications

  * Experience carrying out internal or supplier audits

  * Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels

  * The ability to lead and motivate a team
