Role: Quality Engineer Salary: to be discussed on application Location: Barnstaple Permanent Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm and Fridays 8am-2pm Role Summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a high-performing manufacturing environment. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business. This position offers clear progression into a Quality Manager role within 2–3 years, supported by structured development and leadership exposure. Role & Responsibilities of a Quality Engineer As a Quality Engineer, manage and maintain Quality Management Systems in line with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 standards Plan and conduct internal audits, ensuring compliance with documented procedures and work instructions Oversee PPAP submissions and ensure adherence to customer and contractual requirements Act as the primary interface for customer quality concerns, supporting internal and external audits Drive continuous improvement through structured problem-solving methodologies and data analysis Lead quality performance and cost-of-quality assessments using statistical tools Implement lean manufacturing principles and lead kaizen events across production areas Provide coaching, guidance, and training on quality-related matters to internal teams and customers Requirements of a Quality Engineer Proven experience working as a Quality Engineer within a high-volume manufacturing environment Qualified Internal Auditor to ISO 9001 standards Strong knowledge of problem-solving tools such as 8D, A3, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all organisational levels Confident working with cloud-based systems Desirable: Knowledge of IATF core tools, VDA Auditor certification, Six Sigma Green Belt Apply Now If you are a driven Quality Engineer looking to take the next step in your career with clear progression opportunities, apply now to learn more about this opportunity
