Quantity Surveyor – Heavy Civils / Infrastructure
📍 Middlesbrough (Hybrid & Site-Based)
💰 £35,000 – £45,000 + Package (DOE)

A leading UK civil engineering contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a flagship £30m heavy civils and infrastructure project.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join at pre-construction stage, giving you the chance to influence cost plans, procurement strategies, and commercial delivery right from the start.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Manage measurements, valuations, and subcontract agreements.

  * 

    Prepare tender submissions and assess subcontractor work packages.

  * 

    Oversee commercial performance from bid through to final account.

  * 

    Maximise project profitability through effective cost control and forecasting.

  * 

    Maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships.

  * 

    Negotiate contracts, variations, and compensation events under NEC.

  * 

    Produce monthly reports, cost value reconciliations (CVRs), and cash flow forecasts.

Requirements

  * 

    Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management.

  * 

    2–3 years’ experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, or heavy civils projects.

  * 

    Strong knowledge of NEC / ICE forms of contract.

  * 

    Excellent numerical and communication skills.

  * 

    IT-literate with solid Excel and cost-management software capability.
