Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Northampton
£50,000 plus package 

A well-established and growing Quantity Surveying consultancy based in Northampton is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to support the continued growth of the business across residential and commercial construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to take the next step in their career within a small, professional consultancy environment, with genuine progression opportunities towards Director level.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing Quantity Surveying functions, developing existing client relationships, and supporting business development activities to expand the department.

Key Responsibilities
Managing pre-contract Quantity Surveying duties including: 
Take-offs 
Bills of Quantities 
Cost Planning 
Tender Analysis 
Contract Preparation 
Carrying out post-contract duties including: 
Valuations 
Variation Management 
Budget Reporting 
Final Accounts 
Liaising with clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers 
Managing project budgets and delivering regular client reporting 
Maintaining tender enquiry registers and project documentation 
Supporting business development and helping grow the Quantity Surveying department 
Assisting in the management and development of internal processes and systems 

Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role 
Strong background within residential and commercial construction projects 
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously 
Good understanding of: 
SMM7 
NRM3 
JCT Contracts and other standard forms of contract 
Experience in both pre and post contract duties 
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline 
MRICS status desirable but not essential 
Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating/take-off software 
Strong negotiation, communication, and client-facing skills 
Organised, analytical, and able to work effectively under pressure 
A hands-on team player with ambitions to progress into senior leadership
