Children’s Support Worker (Residential Children’s Home) - Near Aberdare, CF44
Vetro Recruitment is seeking Children’s Support Workers for a residential children’s home near Aberdare, CF44. This temporary role offers the chance to support young people with care, structure and emotional wellbeing, working as part of a consistent staff team.
Location Near Aberdare, CF44
Key Responsibilities
* Support children and young people with day-to-day routines, activities and hobbies
* Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes
* Provide emotional and practical support within the home
* Keep young people safe by following care plans, risk assessments and relevant guidance
* Support young people with behaviours that may be challenging, helping to reduce incidents
* Assist with evenings, weekends, activities and occasional trips (where required)
* Support 2:1 care where required to meet individual needs
About the Residential Setting
* Registered for up to 4 young people
* 6 bedrooms total, including 2 staff rooms (one en-suite)
* 1 bathroom and 1 shower room for young people
* Comfortable communal spaces including a lounge and kitchen/diner, plus extensive grounds
Required Experience and Qualifications
* Minimum 6 months' experience supporting children and young people, or in a similar social care setting
* UK driving licence (driver required)
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
* Right to work in the UK
* Restraint training (TMVA, PMVA or similar) or willingness to complete a 3-day course
Shift Details and Pay
* Temporary / agency shifts
* Shifts: 08:00-22:00 or 13:00-22:00 (opportunities around Aberdare, CF44)
* Pay rate: £14.24 to £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
