Science Teacher

Start Date: January 2026
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Durham from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator to inspire learners across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of scientific principles.
Role Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
Teach across KS3 and KS4, delivering content in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics; specialisms in any discipline are welcome.
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all students can thrive.
Differentiate lessons effectively to meet a variety of learning needs, including those requiring additional support.
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, offering constructive feedback to support academic growth.
Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations, including GCSE content and practical investigations.
Contribute to curriculum planning, development of resources, and continuous improvement within the Science department.
Support extracurricular or enrichment activities such as STEM clubs, science fairs, or revision sessions where possible.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Science at KS3-KS4.
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a combination of sciences.
Excellent classroom management, communication skills, and a passion for inspiring young learners.
