Congleton, Cheshire | Full-Time / Part-Time | Supply & Long-Term Opportunities

Pay: £140 – £240 per day (DOE)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Weekly PAYE Pay – No Umbrella Companies

About the Opportunity

Astro Education is currently recruiting Secondary Teachers to support schools in Congleton and the surrounding Cheshire area.

We are working closely with a number of secondary schools that are looking for reliable and enthusiastic teachers to provide both day-to-day supply and long-term cover across a range of subjects.

Supply teaching offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in different schools, maintain flexibility, and achieve a better work-life balance, while still making a meaningful impact in the classroom.

Whether you are an experienced teacher, Early Career Teacher (ECT), or returning to teaching after a break, we would love to hear from you.

Subjects may include English, Maths, Science, Humanities and general cover, depending on school requirements.

Locations We Cover

Astro Education works with a wide network of secondary schools across Cheshire East and surrounding areas, including:

Congleton, Macclesfield, Holmes Chapel, Sandbach, Alsager, Crewe, Nantwich, Winsford, Middlewich and Northwich.

If you are based in any of these areas and are looking for Secondary Teacher or Supply Teacher work, we would love to hear from you.

Many of the schools we work with are within 20–30 minutes of Congleton, making them easily accessible for teachers living in Crewe, Sandbach, Macclesfield, Holmes Chapel, Alsager, Nantwich and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Deliver engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  * 

    Follow lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning during staff absences

  * 

    Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

  * 

    Support students of varying abilities to achieve their potential

  * 

    Work collaboratively with school staff and follow safeguarding procedures

Requirements

  * 

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent

  * 

    Experience teaching within a secondary school setting

  * 

    Strong classroom management skills

  * 

    Excellent communication and organisational abilities

  * 

    A passion for education and supporting young people

  * 

    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  * 

    Eligibility to work in the UK
