SEMH Teaching Assistant
This isn't the easiest role you'll ever do, but it could be one of the most rewarding.
Some children need more than classroom support. They need someone who can see beyond the behaviour, build trust, and help them believe in themselves again.
If you're calm under pressure, patient when things get tough, and genuinely passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, we'd love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom and around the school
Building positive relationships that help children feel safe, valued and ready to learn
Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to help every pupil succeed
Celebrating the small wins, because they often become the biggest breakthroughs
We are looking for candidates with:
Experience with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour (school or alternative settings)
Calm and patience, even in high-pressure situations
Aility to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
Resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people
