TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEMH provisions in Bradford that provide supportive learning environments for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The provisions focus on creating safe, positive environments where pupils can engage with their education and develop socially and emotionally.
The provisions are looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to work on a short-term or long-term basis, supporting pupils with SEMH needs. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be expected to build positive relationships with pupils, support engagement with learning and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs
Experience working within an education or SEND setting
Confidence supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A patient and resilient approach
A positive, adaptable and proactive attitude
