Empowering Learning is currently recruiting caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistants to work within a range of primary, secondary, and specialist educational settings across Newcastle Upon Tyne.
This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with a variety of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional needs
Support learners with conditions such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Help pupils develop independence, social skills, and confidence
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents
Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom
We Are Looking For
Candidates who:
Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational, care, youth work, or support setting
Are patient, nurturing, and resilient
Have a genuine passion for supporting learners with additional needs
Possess strong communication and relationship-building skills
Can adapt to the individual needs of pupils
Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Qualifications
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
Relevant SEN experience is highly desirable
Graduates considering a career in education, psychology, social work, or therapy are encouraged to apply
