Engage Education is currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support that helps them thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  * Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  * Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

  * Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs and encourage independence.

  * Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support student progress and wellbeing.

  * Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

  * Promote positive behaviour and support pupils with emotional regulation where required.

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  * Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs, either in a school or a similar setting.

  * A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

  * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  * The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

  * An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

  * Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN are desirable but not essential.
