Teaching Personnel are pleased to be supporting a specialist SEMH school in Cranborne with the appointment of a permanent Teaching Assistant.

The school works with pupils aged 11–16, many of whom require a highly individualised approach to learning and behaviour. Staff work as a close-knit team to create a structured environment where pupils can feel safe, supported and able to achieve.
Your role
Working alongside teaching and pastoral colleagues, you will support pupils throughout their school day.
This could include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support
Supporting students with SEMH needs
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Assisting with lessons and activities
Supporting pupils to develop independence
Helping students overcome barriers to learning
Contributing to individual support strategies

The school is looking for someone who is passionate about working with young people and keen to develop their career within specialist education.
Previous experience in SEN, SEMH, teaching, youth work, residential care, sports coaching or behaviour support would be beneficial.
Most importantly, you'll need to demonstrate patience, empathy, resilience and the ability to establish positive boundaries.
Driving is essential as the school is located in a rural part of Cranborne with no public transport.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
